DR Audits

Demand response (DR) audits are the foundation of a successful customer DR implementation. They assess the facility operator's actual or potential ability to reduce energy consumption and loads when notified by the ISO or the utility. Opportunities identified may include manual or automated operational changes, including the installation of technologies that reduce electricity usage during periods of high demand.

DR audits typically include interviewing building owners/operators, inspecting the facilities, assessing production and/or comfort requirements, identifying existing process or building controls, performing spot or short-term monitoring, and identifying specific opportunities.

Nearly every type of facility has a certain degree of load flexibility and DR capability. How much load curtailment is reliably available depends on the technical, operational, financial, and motivating factors that are unique to each participant. Our onsite experience in actually identifying and quantifying this individual load flexibility sets us apart in being able to design and implement programs that are realistic, optimal, and can consistently deliver the desired DR benefits.
