Commissioning
Commissioning (Cx) services are essential to the delivery of a quality energy efficiency project, whether a whole building or major new installations. As a commissioning agent, Nexant tests energy systems and equipment in new construction projects to ensure that all energy-related systems are operating according to their optimized design specifications and meet the owner's requirements in the most energy-efficient manner possible. Our services can fulfill both the fundamental and enhanced commissioning requirements under the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED Core and Shell program.

Our engineers and consultants have experience in design assistance, system optimization, energy simulation modeling, HVAC design, and measurement and verification of energy savings, and as well as an understanding of and experience with LEED-NC and LEED-CS specifications and procedures.

Retrocommissioning
Retrocommissioning (RCx), or recommissioning, consists of revisiting systems in existing facilities after the passage of several years to "tune-up" the equipment and optimize its efficient operation. As an RCx agent for owners and operators, we apply proven investigative techniques to identify poorly operating systems and equipment and to determine the root cause of persistent operational problems. We then work with building owners, managers, ESCOs, the owner's contractors and others to establish clear goals prior to the design and implementation of equipment, control systems, or operating procedures.

The Rx process typically identifies low- and no-cost energy savings measures that provide high value and short paybacks.

LEED Modeling Services
LEED modeling services help building owners to achieve U.S. Green Building Council LEED certification. Nexant provides technical support for projects pursuing certification by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) program. Our LEED modeling services help facility owners and developers achieve certification under the LEED New Construction, LEED for Core and Shell, and LEED for Existing Buildings rating systems.

We support LEED credits in three categories: (1) energy and atmosphere, (2) indoor environmental quality, and (3) innovation and design process. Our services will fulfill both the Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning requirements under the LEED Core and Shell program.
