TrakSmart®
TrakSmart® is Nexant's enterprise software for managing DSM program portfolios. The role-based authorization in TrakSmart enables program managers and program administrators to manage projects, enter data, conduct reviews, submit approvals, manage documents, and produce reports. For program participants,

TrakSmart provides the ease and convenience of online application, data submittal, and status checking. All users benefit from having direct, remote, and anytime access to a secure, easily navigable tracking database. TrakSmart is the result of combining Nexant's unparalleled DSM program design knowledge and software system development expertise to address complex DSM programs that operate under a wide range of regulatory rules.

The supported programs can include prescriptive rebates, calculated incentive and complex projects for energy efficiency, outreach campaigns, renewable programs, and demand response initiatives. TrakSmart supports utilities regardless of whether programs are implemented with third-party vendors or conducted in-house. Every interaction is performed over the web, so implementation teams can use TrakSmart on a dedicated basis or in-house systems can interface with TrakSmart. Nexant also provides consulting and programming services to facilitate the optimal implementation and configuration of TrakSmart for your individual business.

CalcSmart
To simplify savings calculations required by utility demand-side management programs, Nexant designed CalcSmart tools: "deemed savings" calculation methods applicable for lighting, chillers, and packaged air conditioning units of various types. CalcSmart is accurate, easy to use, and allows for quick calculation of savings from these retrofit projects.

CalcSmart is based on a simplified calculation methodology that estimates demand and energy savings with a mathematical formulation where the demand or energy use reduction is the dependent variable and the savings result is a function of easily acquired independent variables (building square footage; building type; baseline and new equipment rated efficiencies; hours of operation; and sequences of operation).

CalcSmart's submetering software can be used to monitor system components and generate bills and reports on system operation and energy use.
