Nexant's REEP

Refinery Energy Efficiency Program

Nexant has been delivering this pay-for-performance demand-side resource for Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) since 2006. The program was developed through collaboration between Nexant's energy efficiency engineers and its experts in oil and gas. Nexant provides participating refineries with:

  • Technical assistance in evaluating energy efficiency technologies that are applicable both to refining processes and to individual refinery operations
  • Project management and coordination assistance to expedite installation
  • Savings calculations
  • Evaluation of financing options
  • Financial incentives for energy saved, to offset capital investment

Since 2006, Nexant has developed projects for PG&E with total submitted gross savings of more than 15 million therms, 65 million kWh, and 7 MW of peak demand reduction.

As of 2010, REEP is also available to refineries served by Southern California Edison.
