Africa Working through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Nexant has:
- Managed the single largest USAID-supported energy infrastructure project worldwide-the $600 million West African Gas Pipeline
- Provided transaction advisory services to more than $50 billion of energy projects
- Achieved financial closure on over $15 billion in energy infrastructure projects in Africa
- Supported development of the West Africa Power Pool
Eastern Europe Through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Nexant is serving as Project Manager for Technical Support to the Bulgaria Residential Energy Efficiency Credit Line (REECL), which provides incentives for residential energy efficiency.
South Asia As the lead technical advisor under the South Asia Regional Initiative for Energy (SARI/Energy) for six years, Nexant provided support to the governments and USAID missions in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Maldives, and Bangladesh.
USAID Nexant prepared a toolkit for reducing non-technical losses in electricity systems, e.g., errors in meter reading and billing, unbilled consumption (resulting from inaccurate metering), and power theft. The toolkit provides information on technologies and best practices for utility personnel undertaking loss reduction initiatives and for USAID staff tasked with building capacity, in missions worldwide, on loss reduction strategies.
