Energy Efficiency & Carbon Management

Government Strategy

Nexant understands the complex issues facing both public and private participants in addressing our national energy challenges. We are also a global leader in providing energy efficiency engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

We work with utility and energy companies, private and public sector energy consumers, and governments around the world to manage and implement strategic change and operational improvements in energy use. We have developed energy efficiency master plans on a national scale, as well as on regional and institutional/enterprise scales. Our plans include objectives and time-bound goals, budget and human resource allocations, and methods for identifying and tracking interim performance metrics. We also emphasize linkages with the financial community to promote investment at both national and project levels.

Nexant's expertise in efficiency technologies, applicable efficiency standards, and measurement and verification protocols—coupled with our sensitivities to the differing perspectives and needs of the financial community, project developers, and end-users—is the hallmark of the many successful programs we have developed worldwide. Our capabilities also allow us to play strong roles in implementation, including procurement, installation and start-up supervision, and monitoring and verification of post-commissioning performance.

A potential reporting requirement on the use of federal and state stimulus funding is the need to calculate both energy and related CO2 savings from energy efficiency and infrastructure projects. Our expertise in calculating, tracking, and documenting energy and carbon savings will be beneficial to public agencies and to contractors implementing stimulus projects.
