LMP and Price Forecasts

Nexant is able to provide price forecasts for all the major North American interconnections using Nexant's COMET® software and other industry recognized applications. These forecasts can be provided for periods ranging from days to years in advance, with nodal granularity or aggregated as desired by the client. Among the numerous variables that Nexant takes into account when developing LMP forecasts are the following:

• Known planned transmission outages for shorter term forecasts
• Transmission additions and interface rating changes
• Generator heat rate curves, and min-up and min-down times
• Generation additions and retirements
• Demand forecasts
• Hydro conditions
• Fuel and emissions prices
• Seasonal variations in ratings, for example: generating unit MW or transmission interfaces

Nexant can provide many sensitivity forecasts using variations of these variables.
