Power Network Analysis

Nexant provides a broad range of power network analysis capabilities, using both Nexant's software applications and popular third-party computer programs. We work closely with clients to provide broad categories of service. The links below describe each of these services in more detail:

State estimator tuning and external network model development. This focuses on providing (a) reliable, accurate estimates of real-time network conditions and (b) models of external networks that are suitable for contingency analysis, optimal power flow and other advanced applications. For these studies, Nexant relies on its industry-leading GEN-SE, TOPAZ, and MODELEX software
Transmission planning, which covers a wide range of projects from the traditional evaluation of transmission additions through investment and congestion studies
Generator interconnection studies, to evaluate the impact of new generation on the transmission system
