Generator Interconnection Studies

Generator interconnection studies are an integral part of the power system planning process. Such studies aim to evaluate the impact of the proposed interconnection on the reliability of the transmission system, and help utilities determine the reinforcements necessary for reliable interconnection.

Nexant has helped utilities throughout the world with large generator interconnection studies by evaluating the impact of these resources on the reliability of the host transmission network. We understand the unique modeling requirements for different types of resources, including intermittent resources such as wind and solar energy. We have been involved in both data modeling and interconnection impact studies for these resources.

In addition to supporting utilities with their interconnection study needs, Nexant has also helped generator owners to site their new generation resources. In addition to supporting the utilities with their interconnection study needs, Nexant has also helped generator owners to make investment decisions based on optimal interconnection locations for new generator siting.
