AZ - Senior Consultant (Transmission) - Energy Software & Systems

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced transmission engineer to join our growing Energy Market and Power System Consulting team headquartered in Chandler, AZ. The successful candidate will perform electric power transmission analysis for the benefit of our clients. The analysis will be primarily steady state and will include development of external models (network reduction) for EMS applications, running of power flows for transmission planning, generator interconnection and resource integration studies, and development of transmission models for production simulation. The candidate must be able to effectively interact with clients, develop proposals, and generate high-quality reports.

Job Qualifications

• Masters or Ph.D. in electrical engineering with power systems emphasis
• At least five years of relevant work experience
• At least two years of experience consulting to electric utilities
• Familiarity with EMS applications, including state estimation, contingency analysis, dispatcher power flow and OPF maintenance, business planning, protection, policy setting, and industry standards
• Expertise with PSLF or PSS/E steady state analysis and the automation languages for these applications (e.g., EPCL, IDEV)
• Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
• Ability to learn and function in a strong team environment
• Ability to work within schedules and deadlines
