SENIOR CONSULTANT—OIL AND GAS—HOUSTON, TX

Nexant is a leading provider of experience-based management and technology consulting services to oil and gas companies worldwide. With 25 years of industry experience, our O&G practice delivers strategic, commercial, technical, and economic advisory to oil and gas majors, national oil companies and end-users as well as M&A and project finance support to financial institutions. Our core competencies range from resource evaluation in the upstream through the value chain, to shipping and distribution of gas and refined products.

To develop our natural gas business in the Americas, we are currently seeking an experienced professional having demonstrated capabilities and experience in sales generation, project management, and/or project execution. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the commercial, economic, technical and strategic issues of importance to the global gas industry with expertise in the Americas, particularly relating to the LNG aspect of the business.

This position will be based in our Houston office and will require the following work and personal capabilities:

  • Minimum of 7 years working experience with an oil and gas major or internationally recognized consulting firm
  • Demonstrated capabilities and experience in project management support, and project execution and delivery to the client
  • Understanding of gas economics including LNG and project appraisal techniques for investment prefeasibility analysis
  • Desire to broaden experience into related sectors (e.g., mid- and downstream refining, alternative energy, or marketing)

Additional Requirements

  • Experience in the gas sector in a technical or commercial role, in one or more of the following areas: short-term scheduling/optimization; medium-/long-term investment planning; technical support; and/or project implementation
  • Ability to work under time constraints within a multidisciplined teaming environment to meet tight deadlines
  • Able to relate well with others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired objectives
  • Flexible, able to work on multiple engagements
  • Focused on achieving results, motivated, and able to "think on your feet"
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering required; MBA is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills
