SENIOR CONSULTANTS—ELECTRIC POWER DISTRIBUTION

Nexant's Technology Management business unit has over a quarter-century of industry experience delivering strategic, commercial, technical, and economic advisory to electric power majors, national electricity companies and end-users as well as M&A and project finance support to financial institutions. Our core competencies range from resource evaluation in generation technologies through the electric transmission grid to distribution for end-users.

We are currently seeking experienced consultants having demonstrated capabilities and experience in sales generation, project management and/or project execution to develop our electric power distribution business. Successful candidates will have a thorough understanding of the commercial, economic, technical, and strategic issues of importance to the global electricity industry with expertise internationally particularly relating to the electric distribution aspect of the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required; MBA is a plus
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience with an electric power major or internationally recognized consulting firm
  • Demonstrated capabilities and experience in project management support, execution, and delivery to clients
  • Understanding of energy economics, including electric power and project appraisal techniques for investment prefeasibility analysis
  • Desire to broaden experience into related sectors (e.g., distributed generation, alternative energy, or marketing)

Experience

Required experience includes: metering, billing, and collection, along with distribution planning, including demand forecasting and reduction, reliability performance, loss reduction, equipment upgrades, SCADA, electrification in both rural and urban areas, and experience in LDCs.

Desirable experience includes: end-user tariffs, power purchasing, and World Bank policies and guidelines
