SENIOR CONSULTANT—PETROCHEMICALS

We are currently seeking an experienced petrochemical senior consultant for our chemicals business unit. The position involves marketing and selling Nexant ChemSystems consulting offerings and participating in project teams. The primary focus will be on marketing and sales with a strong secondary focus on analysis and project execution. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the economic, technical, and strategic issues of importance to the petrochemical industry—more specifically olefins, aromatics and intermediates—as well as a good grasp of global refining, feedstocks, petrochemicals, and related industries.

Responsibilities

• Market Nexant's single-client chemicals consulting services to the U.S. Gulf Coast and Latin American industries
• Identify, propose, and close consulting engagements
• Maintain familiarity with selected segments of the industry, preferably olefins, aromatics and intermediates, and links to feedstocks and refining
• Interact with and support other Nexant consulting offices and project teams in the execution of their Houston-based activities

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or chemistry required; MBA preferred but not required
• A range of 7-10 years of experience in the commercial (or technical) stream in the petrochemical industry; demonstrated experience within a consulting environment
• Experience with financial analysis and business planning
• Broad industry contacts required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
