SALES EXECUTIVE—HOUSTON, TX

Nexant's Software & Information Systems (S&IS) business unit based in Chandler, AZ is a major engineering and consulting group with a reputation for building cutting-edge software solutions for its clients.

We are seeking a skilled professional who can increase our software and consulting sales in North America. Our ideal candidate is a high-energy individual who can generate new leads and cultivate existing customers. The candidate will lead complex sales for enterprise software solution at both the executive and technical level to power industry customers, particularly utilities and power marketers.

The position will be based in our Houston, TX office and will report to the S&IS vice-president of sales and marketing.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the sales of Nexant's advanced software tools and consulting services for the electric energy industry in North America. Areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to:
  • Working with the vice president of sales and marketing to identify target markets and opportunities and develop sales strategies
  • Achieving annual sales targets
  • Conducting proactive sales activities to targeted industry segments including utilities, generation companies, and energy traders
  • Identifying prospects, developing new business opportunities, and managing customer relationships

Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for motivated individuals having 10+ years of sales experience with a minimum of the last 5 years in the electric energy markets industry—electric energy trading and/or risk management preferred—with the following qualifications:
  • Self-motivated self-starter, with strong, positive interpersonal communications and presentation skills
  • Experienced in presenting to electric energy industry senior management
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving significant revenue growth, profitability, and market penetration
  • Experienced in selling enterprise software with the ability to adeptly explain features, benefits, and technical aspects of a suite of software applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electric energy risk management and asset valuation
  • Advanced degree preferred; B.A. / B.S. required
