PROJECT ENGINEERS (SENIOR)—ENERGY EFFICIENCY / ENERGY MANAGEMENT—CHANDLER, AZ

We are currently seeking senior project engineers in energy efficiency, energy management, and green buildings applications for our Chandler, AZ office.

Successful candidates will be responsible for technical engineering support of Nexant's Energy and Carbon Management business unit. Specific responsibilities will include: leading energy engineering services for utility and end-use clients, directing and reviewing electric energy efficiency and recommissioning projects, managing investment grade audits, and performing other related tasks.

We are also seeking junior-level engineers and project managers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to project team members and provide advanced technical direction to junior staff
  • Lead small teams of engineers to conduct energy audits of commercial and industrial facilities to identify energy efficiency, load control, and distributed generation opportunities
  • Provide technical review of energy savings calculations
  • Manage and help coordinate industry trade partners
  • Communicate efficiently with subcontractors and clients
  • Write and review reports that summarize results and recommend savings amounts and incentive payments

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, architectural, electrical engineering, sustainable building practices, or similar
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience within the energy efficiency or building efficiency industry
  • An understanding of building systems (particularly HVAC), thermodynamics, and heat transfer
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • P.E., C.E.M., or LEED AP certification is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems is preferred
  • Industry contacts are a plus
  • Experience in energy modeling is a plus
