SOFTWARE DEVELOPER—CHANDLER, AZ

Based in Chandler, AZ, Nexant's Software and Information Systems business unit is an engineering and consulting group with a reputation for building cutting-edge software solutions for our clients. Due to a major expansion agenda, we have a need for a hands-on and talented J2EE software developer to join our team as a regular, full-time employee. Local candidates preferred, but we will offer a relocation package to the right candidate!

Job Description

The successful candidate will participate in the full life cycle development of web-based systems, including design, implementation, testing, and support. Areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to, implementation of business logic, user interfaces, and databases.

Qualifications

We are looking for motivated developers having hands-on software development knowledge and 3-5 years of work experience, with the following qualifications:

  • Strong core java expertise in developing scalable systems
  • Hands-on experience in designing and developing EJB systems
  • Implementation knowledge of Hibernate, Struts, and other frameworks
  • Good knowledge of server and web client technologies, and how they work together
  • Strong working knowledge of service oriented architecture
  • Ability to proactively look at new and innovative solutions that may improve user experience while increasing performance and
  • scalability
  • Should be analytical and be able to troubleshoot applications
  • Good database and RDBMS and ORACLE knowledge
  • Exposure to formal development methodology tools
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • B.S. in computer science or related; M.S. is preferred
  • Power system modeling knowledge is a plus, but not required

Software Development Skills

  • EJB, Servlets, Hibernate, Struts, Oracle, Weblogic/JBOSS/WebSphere, Tomcat, SOAP, Apache
  • J2EE, Java , Ajax, Web Services, XML, XLST, JUnit
  • C/C++ experience is a plus
