Nexant’s Hedgedirect Facilitates Optimum Pricing for Oxxio’s Power and Gas Customers

Waardenburg (Netherlands)---February 18, 2009---Nexant (http://www.nexant.com/), the global energy software and consulting firm, announced today that Oxxio Nederland BV (Oxxio), the fourth largest energy supplier in the Netherlands, has licensed Nexant’s HedgeDirect™ software solution. Oxxio will use HedgeDirect to automate the management, pricing, and execution of its retail power and gas supply contracts with residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The greater speed and efficiency of the new system will allow Oxxio to offer customers the best pricing and most flexible supply options.
HedgeDirect will provide a straight-through processing platform that will link Oxxio’s wholesale procurement and trading desk with the company’s retail supply operations. Currently, Oxxio uses a manual system for structured retail price quotes and hedging. Because data must be entered manually into several different applications, the existing system is prone to errors. Additionally, between the time a price quote is accepted and then entered into both retail and wholesale applications, the wholesale price can change significantly. With HedgeDirect, Oxxio will automate this entire process, quickly creating the best price quotes, eliminating redundant data entry, speeding up contract execution, and allowing Oxxio’s trading desk to hedge the contract before any volatile swings in wholesale price occurs.

Project design and implementation will begin this month and the new system is scheduled to go live in June 2009.

Momenteel gebruikt Oxxio een handmatig systeem voor gestructureerde retailprijs-offertes en hedging. Omdat data handmatig moeten worden ingevoerd in een aantal verschillende toepassingen, is het bestaande systeem gevoelig voor fouten. Bovendien kan tussen het moment waarop een prijsofferte wordt geaccepteerd en vervolgens ingevoerd in zowel retail- als groothandeltoepassingen de groothandelsprijs aanzienlijk veranderen. Met HedgeDirect zal Oxxio het gehele proces automatiseren, snel de beste offertes maken, overbodige data-invoer elimineren, de realisatie van het contract versnellen en Oxxio's trading desk in staat stellen het contract in te laten gaan voordat schommelingen van de groothandelsprijs kunnen optreden.
