Sidhartha Sen—Petrochemical Development Group Founder—Joins Nexant as Principal Consultant
January 18, 2008---Houston, TX---Sidhartha Sen, founder of the Houston-based Petrochemical Development Group (PDG) consulting firm, has joined the Global Chemicals business unit of Nexant, Inc. as a principal consultant. With Sen's appointment, Nexant also gains the intellectual capital of PDG, which specialized in providing commercialization services, business development tools, and technology transfer management to the polymer and advanced materials industries.
As principal, Sen will now head a Nexant team focused on helping clients to:
- Identify key technologies for acquisition
- Promote and actively position new products in the market
- Generate "leader" projects to baseline new product development
- Test and analyze new intellectual property
- Transfer and license technology
- Identify, define, and structure value for incumbent and novel technologies
- Assist in scale-up analysis (raw materials, logistics, energy costs, market potential)

In addition to his technology commercialization expertise, Sen has significant experience in elastomers, including polyolefins and styrene-block copolymers (SBCs), and will undertake marketing and sales and single-client consulting activities in the polymers and elastomers areas. Before starting PDG, he was analyst with several market research firms as well as Kraton Polymers and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. He holds a B.S. in environmental science and policy from Vanderbilt University.
