SARAH YARGER KIENZLE TO HEAD NEXANT PETROLEUM AND CHEMICALS STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS PRACTICE

WILL FOCUS ON NORTH AMERICAN AND ASIAN MARKETS

January 12, 2005---WHITE PLAINS, NY.---Nexant, Inc. (www.nexant.com) announced today that Sarah Yarger Kienzle has joined its Petroleum and Chemicals (P&C) division as vice president of the strategy and operations consulting practice for North America and Asia.

Kienzle brings 25 years of consulting and operations experience to her new assignment. Most recently, she was managing director of The SKY Group, LLC, a boutique consultancy focused on creating rapid growth in both newly launched and mature business enterprises. Her previous operating experience includes serving as vice president of corporate development at Olin Corporation (NYSE:OLN), where she was the architect of the portfolio strategy leading to the spinoff of Arch Chemicals (NYSE:ARJ). She subsequently served as a senior executive at Arch.

"Sarah's wealth of management consulting and business process consulting experience will be of great benefit to our clients," said Don Bari, Nexant P&C senior vice president. "We are very excited by the prospect of expanding our global capabilities in business process consulting for the chemical industries, and Sarah will be instrumental in helping us achieve that goal." During the mid-1980s, Kienzle worked with Bari as a principal at Chem Systems. Nexant acquired the Chem Systems operation from IBM in 2001..

Kienzle's additional consulting experience includes serving as a corporate director of operations consulting for PRTM, where she was also on the board of the firm's venture capital fund, Atlantic Ventures. Previously, she was a vice president at SRI Consulting; and CEO of a medical device and software company that is now part of General Electric. Early in her career she worked in line and staff positions with Amoco Chemical and Celanese Chemicals. Kienzle holds a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering from Brown University and an M.B.A. from New York University.
