The Energy Management practice helps public and private utilities, energy end-users, and government agencies better manage the use of electric energy in the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. Energy Management provides strategy and market advisory services and as well as engineering and project implementation services to both suppliers and consumers of electric power.
Nexant is the market leader in the design, development, and implementation of demand-side management (DSM) programs. These programs reduce overall energy consumption, help defer large generation and transmission and distribution (T&D) capital projects, mitigate energy supply risks, and reduce emissions. With rising energy costs and concern with greenhouse emissions, spending on DSM programs has increased substantially.
Nexant provides recommissioning (RCx) and commissioning services, energy audits and analysis, owner's representation in performance contracts, project management, energy modeling, and other engineering services. Energy Management staff have extensive experience in whole building systems optimization, energy efficiency project implementation, measurement and verification of energy savings, RCx, commissioning, and green building design for the residential, commercial, industrial and institutional market sectors.
Nexant has developed TrakSmart®, a web-based enterprise software system for DSM program tracking, document management, reporting, and workflow automation. Customers using TrakSmart® can manage programs and costs more efficiently, improve reporting compliance, and manage DSM portfolio risks. Nexant has also developed measurement and verification (M&V) software tools for energy savings estimation and M&V tracking purposes.
