For over 25 years, Dr. Kulkarni has focused on solving many of the energy industry’s unique issues involving system planning, screening and feasibility studies, renewable integration, market restructuring, master plan, integrated resource planning (IRP), generation and transmission studies, interconnection, congestion/curtailment, unit commitment and dispatch, production costing, optimal power flow (OPF), power flow, grid code, NERC compliance, financial transmission rights (FTR) and congestion revenue rights (CRR) analysis, and system impacts. His extensive experience includes power systems analysis, generation and transmission studies, modeling, simulations, algorithms, and software development.

Dr. Kulkarni works with individual clients and stakeholder groups. He provides expert testimony, performs technical studies, and assists clients to implement and use technical power system computer models. His experience includes projects in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. Dr. Kulkarni has a MS and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Power Systems) from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Arizona State University.  He has held senior leadership positions at Ventyx, R.W. Beck, and Navigant.
