Mr. Marios Hatzikyriakou has a decade of experience in transaction support, techno-economic analysis, and strategic planning across the value chain of energy and chemicals, extending to knowledge of plant design, construction, and operations.  He has created significant value combining engineering judgment and financial expertise to advise on multi-billion dollar investments from inception through completion in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas. 

  • Financing of three $1B+ natural gas reforming and methanol projects in the US
  • Financing of $300M+ US biomass-derived chemical manufacturing project 
  • Private equity acquisition of a US integrated chemicals manufacturer
  • Private equity acquisition of a leading global producer of organic acid salts
  • Foreign strategic buyer acquisition of a US ethylene cracker complex and pipeline assets
  • Biomass, waste, solar, and wind power IPO listing on the main board of an Asian stock exchange 

Before joining Nexant, Marios served as Senior Proposals Coordinator at Chicago Bridge & Iron (CB&I), executing proposal strategy for licensed processes to make olefins and aromatics.

Marios has an MBA from Cornell University, and a BS in chemical engineering from Columbia University.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of New Jersey.

He is a board director and assistant secretary of the Chemical Marketing & Economics (CM&E) Group of ACS NY.  C&ME is the largest topical group at the American Chemical Society.
